Dr Mia Amour Jules is a Lecturer in Psychology in the School of Education, at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. She is a registered Clinical Psychologist in Barbados and is a past secretary of the Barbados Society of Psychology. Dr Jules is a past OAS Research Fellow, a UWI full postgraduate scholar, a University of Nottingham doctoral visiting scholar and a Commonwealth split-site scholar. Her research spans both psychology and education and as a methodologist uses her training in qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods designs to advance scholarship in both disciplines. Dr Jules publishes and conducts research in a number of areas most specifically the psychosocial factors that influence identity development and health-damaging behaviour among adolescent and emerging-adult populations in online/offline contexts. In addition, she investigates psychoeducational factors which contribute to and hinder the successful transition of child, adolescent and adult learners through Caribbean educational systems.
