Francine Conway, PhD is an accomplished scholar and clinical psychologist recognized for her work in aging and child psychopathology and the dean of the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Conway, a graduate of Cornell University and Columbia University, earned her doctoral degree from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University. Conway's scholarly focus has been in two critical areas – aging and child psychopathology. She has gained national prominence in translational presentation of her work through national forums such as her TEDx talk “Cultivating Compassion for the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Child: Shifting Our Stance from Moral Indictment to Empathy” and her recent book “Cultivating Compassion: A Psychodynamic Understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.” Dr. Conway uses the platform afforded her through her deanship to improve access to mental health care by promoting and creating opportunities for dissemination and implementation of evidence-based practices through community partnerships and the use of technology.
